About
Alexandra (Alex) Fanizzi, founder and lead teacher, received her B.A. in International Studies and Foreign Languages from Stonehill College, and her M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Teachers College - Columbia University. Thereafter, she worked at a few schools across New York City both as an English as a New Language (ENL) and English Language Arts (ELA) teacher. She also worked as an ENL Coordinator training teachers with strategies and techniques to bring into their own classrooms.
She teaches children (K-12) and adults in ENL privately in one-on-one sessions. In addition to teaching, she offers writing support services to students and professionals.
Individualized English language teaching had always been her specialty, then due to CoVid-19 all of her students transitioned to an online platform. Thus English with Comfort was born. As we transition back from CoVid-19 restrictions, she now offers in-person tutoring as well.

“I am Alex. I have worked with people from around the world aiming to improve their English language skills. I believe the only way to help a student is to know a student. Thus in all of my work, I devote myself to learning about the needs of each individual in front of me.”
